Can you imagine that a place situated in the very north of Sweden, on the outskirts of Europe, is a place of multiculturalism and meetings between cultures and different nationalities? Since you now is visiting Arjeplog you know that it is possible and the actual situation in Arjeplog. This has formed us in many ways and changed our minds in many ways. Nowadays we are a natural part of what is happening in the world and we are also involved in shaping our own future as well as the future of Europe and the rest of world.
During the history Arjeplog has always been a multicultural society. The Sami people and the settlers have been living side by side, most of the time in harmony. Together with the international atmosphere in Arjeplog of today this has formed our way of living and our thoughts.
Arjeplog is a very nice place to live in. People are very positive, have a strong belief in the future and are aware of their own responsibility for the development in Arjeplog. This is creating an environment for good living conditions and respect for each other. In Arjeplog you can be sure that you will be accepted the way you are. You don’t have to pretend to be someone else. It is wonderful that we all can exist together in our society and that we all contribute to the multitude of the society irrespective of nationality, ethnicity, beliefs, religion or sexual orientation.
And now you have arrived here, and are existing in the middle of this society. Our wish is that you shall enjoy your stay here and our sincere ambition is to make your stay here as pleasant as possible. To be able to maximize your positive experiences of Arjeplog we need to know what you think of Arjeplog and what is in need to be changed.
As a representative for the municipality of Arjeplog I am really interested in your expectations upon our municipality. We are often told that you miss a lot of things in our society, i.e. cafés, but we seldom get the chance to hear directly from you what you think.
